PNMC Fest: Celebrating Multicultural Films & Plays in Portland

From August 14–16, 2025, Portland’s Pacific Northwest Multicultural Readers Series and Film Festival will bring together independent storytellers, award-winning cinema, captivating play readings, and master classes at the DoubleTree Hotel in Portland, Oregon. Produced by PassinArt Theatre and led by Artistic Director Jerry Foster, this third-year festival is anchored by celebrity ambassador Regina Taylor, whose solo performance Exhibit launches the Readers Series.

This year’s lineup includes nearly 30 scripts read by stage and screen talents like Javon Johnson and Roscoe Orman, a film festival featuring 30 independent and international films, and a special screening of Bull Street starring Loretta Devine. A new Youth Artists Expo invites ages 15–20 to explore what’s possible in theatre and film. Attendees with Festival All Access tickets can access master classes, celebrity conversations, and networking receptions.

At Awakened Lounge, we honor spaces where diverse stories and voices are centered. PNMC Fest reflects the power of intentional storytelling and intergenerational creativity.
